First-Ever OMI Diwali Celebration This Saturday
The event aims to highlight the contributions of the city’s Hindu, Sikh, Buddhists, Jains, Muslim and Punjabi community.
The inaugural OMI Diwali Celebration will be held this Saturday afternoon at Unity Plaza.
The five-day Hindu festival celebrates the victory of light over darkness including prayer to the Hindu goddess of wealth.
There will be free food, henna, music, a free plant giveaway, dance and a balloon artist.
The event is being put on by the OMI Cultural Participation Project, Grac3ful Roots and other neighborhood organizations.
