In Advance Of Supermarket H Mart Opening, 2 Virtual Hiring Events Organized To Fill 90 Positions

INGLESIDE, San Francisco — H Mart, the Asian supermarket chain opening its first San Francisco location in OceanView Village, will hold two hiring events in the first week of February assisted by the Office of Economic and Workforce Development and community-based organizations.

H Mart is seeking to fill 90 positions in various departments. Jobs range from cashier to operations support. Applicants who speak Korean, Chinese or Spanish are encouraged to apply.

Inner City Youth and Young Community Developers are assisting OEWD with the virtual hiring events, which are set for Feb. 2 and Feb. 5. Language assistance will be available.

With more than 67 store locations, H Mart is the largest Asian supermarket chain in the U.S.

The late Mayor Ed Lee and outgoing Director of the Office of Economic and Workforce Development Joaquin Torres lured H Mart to the neighborhood to fill the vacant supermarket space, Torres told the Ingleside Light in 2018.
