Ingleside's Residential Permit Parking Zone Could Extend To The Excelsior
“I think we deserve it, we’re a very strong family neighborhood with a lot of good people,” one neighbor said.
The Valero station in the heart of the neighborhood is no more.
One of Ingleside’s fill-up stations is getting rebranded.
The Valero station at Ocean and Jules avenues is being transformed into a Marathon.
Cashier Ricki Le said on Wednesday that any changes will be focused on the rebranding for now and it should take two to three days to complete.
The gas station will remain open for business during construction.
“I think it's probably not much different,” Le said of the future of the gas station. “For prices, we will probably stay the same or less.”
A work crew from AA Sign Image started removing the station’s turquoise and yellow colors to and began installing red and blue panels on the canopy.
“We’re changing the brand on this gas station,” AA Sign Image’s Julio Guzman said.
Public records show Ingleside Auto Service secured the DBA of Valero Gas Station in 2006.
The Planning Department approved the new signage at 1799 Ocean Ave. earlier this year. The estimated total cost for the rebranding’s hard costs is $39,550, permits show.
The “Snack Shop” will be renamed “Food Mart.” The sign that displays the gas prices will also be changed to white and the new red and blue Marathon sign will be installed.
“I don’t think I’d noticed it at all,” customer David Caroasco said about the rebranding. “The only thing I’d notice is whether or not the prices stayed the same.”
ConocoPhillips acquired Marathon Oil last year. The station will be the second Marathon in San Francisco. The other is on Geary Boulevard. Others are located in Daly City off of Skyline Drive and one in South San Francisco off of Westborough Boulevard.
