San Francisco Police Department officers announced the arrest of the suspect in an Ingleside home burglary-turned-homicide in the Sunset District on Monday.

Forty-five-year-old Cassidy Wyatt Allen of San Francisco was on the corner of 19th Avenue and Sloat Boulevard during a well-being check.

"Officers detained the subject without incident," according to police. "Investigators developed probable and the suspect was placed under arrest."

Allen is suspected of killing a person in a residence on Granada Avenue between Ocean and Holloway avenues. He was booked into San Francisco County Jail for murder and burglary.

Police responded to the scene just after 3 p.m. on Sunday and discovered the injured person and rendered aid, including CPR, according to a new release.

Paramedics later rendered aid, and the person was pronounced dead at the scene.

Teddy, a City College of San Francisco student who lives across the street, said he hasn't had any safety concerns since moving in two months ago.

The investigation is ongoing.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner did not provide The Light with the victim's name.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the SFPD at 415-575-4444 or text a tip to TIP411 and begin the message with SFPD.
