In preparation for the widespread use of fireworks on Independence Day, Ingleside Station police announced that they will bring back “Operation Kaboom,” a special dispatch phone line to take complaints on revelers.

“Reporting the ‘sound’ of fireworks to 911 or the non-emergency line (415) 553-0123 clogs our system, which hinders a rapid response to emergencies as well as identified locations where illegal fireworks are being launched,” according to an announcement.

The phone line will be used on July 4 only despite the ongoing use of fireworks since late May.

Fireworks are illegal in the City and County of San Francisco.

How to Report Fireworks on July 4

Emergency: 911
Non-Emergency: (415) 553-0123
Illegal fireworks seen being ignited: (415) 404-4052
