A person was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries after being stabbed on Wednesday afternoon near Junipero Serra Boulevard and Ocean Avenue.

San Francisco police responded to the incident after 4:30 p.m. and rendered aid to the victim, who was later transported to the hospital. Officers searched for the suspect.

The San Francisco Police Department's spokesperson said the victim was standing in front of Commodore Sloat Elementary School, holding the hand of a minor, when they were stabbed in the chest, according to KTVU. No arrests had been made.

Footage from KTVU's SkyFOX appears to show police officers examining Junipero Serra Boulevard's triangle-shaped median. To keep pedestrians away, a perimeter was set up in front of the Russian School of Mathematics.

An employee from the Russian School of Mathematics declined to speak to The Light, as did an officer at Taraval Station. The San Francisco Police Department's on-call media relations officer did not pick up the phone or immediately return an email.

The incident is the second newsmaking stabbing in the neighborhood in the past few weeks. A young man named Colden Kimber died from a stab wound after an altercation on Ocean and Lee avenues in late July.
