A City College of San Francisco student walking on Frida Kahlo Way was the victim of sexual battery on Sunday afternoon, according to the college's police department.

The San Francisco Community College District Police Department issued a crime bulletin on Monday morning to alert the community about the incident and to seek information about the suspect.

The suspect, who was driving on Frida Kahlo Way around 2:45 p.m., drove the wrong way up Cloud Circle Drive onto campus to park his vehicle and then ran to the student.

"During this time, the suspect walked up behind her and started talking to her," police stated in the bulletin. "After she declined the suspect's advances, she turned and started to walk southbound on Frida Kahlo Way to avoid the suspect. Afterward, the suspect ran up behind her, groped her buttocks, and ran northbound toward Judson Avenue."

The victim was not injured. She immediately filed a police report.

The bulletin described the suspect as a "white male adult, late 30s, overweight, brown hair, possibly had facial hair, wearing a red plaid button-up shirt and denim jeans."

While not listed in the bulletin, the police told The Light that the man drove a gray, four-door hatchback.

Several sex offense reports occurred on campus this year. In January, an incident of attempted rape with force was referred to the Office of the San Francisco District Attorney. In February, there were two cases of sexual battery, with one referred to the DA. No reports for May, June or July were accessible.

The number of sex offense reports, both forcible and non-forcible, collected by the SFPD has fallen year over year, with less than half as many reports for the first half of this year compared to 2024.

In 2024, there were 154 reported incidents, with 60 leading to an arrest and 50 charges filed. From Jan. 1 to July 5 of this year, there have been 29 sex offenses reported to police, with nine resulting in an arrest. Five cases have led to the DA filing charges so far.

Anyone with additional information about this incident is encouraged to contact Officer Joey Yee at 415-239-3200 or jcyee@ccsf.edu.
