Ingleside has a new coffee shop whose owner aims to unite coffee drinkers with their neighbors.
Diamond Coffee N’ Pastry soft-opened on Wednesday, Aug. 6, on Ocean Avenue, officially adding a fourth location on San Francisco's west side.
Wayne Situ, 33, founded the mini-chain when he took his passion for coffee and love for his late shih tzu-chihuahua mix, Diamond, and opened the first location in Inner Richmond in 2019. As the popularity of the coffee shop grew, Situ opened two additional locations in the Outer Richmond and Outer Sunset.

“I love coffee,” Situ said. “I always dreamed of having a coffee shop when I was young.” Born in China and raised in the Sunset, Situ is a City College of San Francisco alum and current small business management student at San Francisco State University. Now a Visitacion Valley resident, he discovered the fourth brick-and-mortar location, formerly The Fate Teahouse, while driving along Ocean Avenue.
The Ingleside location drops the boutique theme of the other locations for a storybook camping scenery. The interior is outfitted with canopy-covered ceilings and camping gear decorations like pots, pans and a tapestry designed with a map of the United States. In addition to chairs that resemble cut logs, a bench and tables, camping chairs are placed throughout the storefront for extra seating.
“It’s very fun,” Situ said. “It’s very chill and relaxing. That's one of my favorite things to do.”
The shop’s menu has a variety of coffee or tea-based drinks and pastries. Drinks like their signature pour-overs or einspänners are priced from $3.50 to $6.80. Flavored coffees in a variety of options like pistachio, honeycomb, kona mocha and others. Non-coffee drinks include chai tea lattes and hot chocolate with a toasted marshmallow.

“I live nearby,” customer Stella Ma said on her first visit. “ I love it.”
Situ said he plans to spend time at the Ingleside location. He believes that coffee is a universal language that connects people and wants his shop to become a go-to spot for people to get to know their neighbors. Situ also plans to have their grand opening at the beginning of September.
“Come and try our stuff,” Situ said. “I want to meet all of them.”
