A person stabbed near Junipero Serra Boulevard and Ocean Avenue on Wednesday died of their injuries, police said Thursday morning.
Police arrived at the scene of a report of a man suffering from a stab wound at 4:38 p.m. and rendered aid. Paramedics then transported the victim, whose injuries were life-threatening, to the hospital, where he later died.
Police searched Ocean Avenue for the suspect but made no arrest on Wednesday.
Police told the media that the man was holding the hand of a minor when he was stabbed in the chest.
The San Francisco Police Department Homicide Detail is leading the investigation. No arrest has been made.
“My heart goes out to the victim and his family in this horrific incident,” said Paul Yep, the interim police chief. “We are devoting significant resources to this case, and our investigators are working tirelessly on this investigation. We will not rest until this suspect is in custody.”
The homicide is the second in the neighborhood in the past few weeks.
