A man died in a collision with a K-Ingleside streetcar boarding island early Saturday, Dec. 21.
A man who drove his vehicle into a Muni boarding island located at Ocean and Ashton avenues early Saturday, Dec. 21, was pronounced dead, authorities announced Monday.
Taraval Police Station officers and Station 15 firefighters responded to the collision at 1:07 a.m. to find a silver Nissan SUV had collided into the outbound K-Ingleside light rail vehicle stop’s ADA platform. The driver was found unresponsive behind the wheel.
A representative of the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner said the office is not releasing the deceased’s name until they notify the next of kin.
The San Francisco Police Department’s Traffic Collision Investigation Unit is currently investigating the incident, according to SFPD Public Information Officer Adam Lobsinger.
Authorities have placed orange traffic cones in front of the boarding island where the crash occurred.
