An altercation between two men on Ocean Avenue ended with one dead and the other booked into the county jail.
A man who was stabbed in the neck during an altercation on Ingleside's Ocean Avenue on Saturday afternoon died from his injuries, the San Francisco Police Department announced.
The incident happened shortly after 4 p.m. and centered on the inbound Ocean and Lee avenues public transit boarding island.
A 38-second video of the incident posted on social media shows the victim holding down the suspect across the Muni shelter seating while a woman applies pressure to the victim's wound and speaks to a 911 dispatcher.
The cause of the altercation was not given by authorities.
Police officers from Taraval and Ingleside stations responded to the scene and found the victim and rendered aid until medics could transport the victim to the hospital.
"Despite the life-saving efforts of emergency responders and the medical staff, the victim succumbed to his injuries and was declared deceased in the hospital," SFPD said in an announcement.
Police officers arrested the blood-covered suspect, 29-year-old Sean Collins of San Francisco, about two blocks away beside the Ingleside Branch Library courtyard gate.
Collins was taken to San Francisco County Jail and booked for homicide. The SFPD's Homicide Detail is investigating the case.
Authorities have not released the victim's name.
