Muni service will change for the upcoming school year, including bringing back the 28R 19th Avenue Rapid and removing some bus stops on the 29 Sunset, the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency announced.

Starting Saturday, Aug. 19, the 28R 19th Avenue Rapid bus will run weekdays between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m., every 12 minutes, on a route that will express from 19th and Holloway avenues to the Daly City BART station, instead of continuing to Balboa Park station, like it used to.

The new 28R 19th Avenue Rapid service will no longer stop on Arch Street or Alemany Boulevard, instead going directly to the Daly City BART Station from the southbound stop located at 19th and Holloway avenues. Riders along Alemany Boulevard going to Balboa Park Station can continue to use the 54 Felton.

Families are encouraged to plan their trips ahead of time and hop on Muni early to avoid potential peak morning crowds and make sure students get to school on time.
